VFL R13 - Port Melbourne v Geelong
Body:

What a game! I haven't watched the replay but Sundays win will go down as one of the best.

Port faced a Geelong side with 17 AFL listed players and on an 8 game winning streak.

Port played a great 4 quarter effort.

Fantastic effor especially when you consider porr was 2 men down for nearly half the game, how do we get some consistency though ? Last time we had a good win we got thumped the next match - is their a lack of belief? Shell shock when sides get the leed ?

Important to keep this good form going and should we win this week it creates a interesting scenario, one which we reach a block of games that are very winnable other than one tough hurdle the game v Werribee.

Port has proven they can compete with anybody this season and although a somewhat favourable draw for Port here onwards its pretty much a case of playing a final every week now - tough ask.

After the high of thumping the 'owners, it was such a low last week. Consistency has been a problem. Not just week to week but even during the course of games.

With two of the clubs better performers in Smith and McComb being out, along with Red also missing who is such a core player, I really couldn't see us bring any real chance.

Delivery into the forward line has been an issue all season and it was noticeably improved.

Are we a chance of carrying this kind of success through for the remilaibg rounds? Finals remain a remote possibility if we do.

The Borough girls snuck into the top 6, playing out a draw in a hotly contested game and I think will be playing Box Hill again this week.

Definitely VFL in the Roosters time late 90's.

Can clearly remember him playing at Port.

Unsure of how many years or games ?

He played for Port in at least 1995, the last season of the VFA, but he may have played for Port for more seasons than that

According to his CV on the internet he played with 17 clubs over his career so I suggest he carried a fair bit of baggage with him over his career !

John 'more clubs than Captain Spalding' McNamara. Was at 3 AFL clubs in North Melbourne, Essendon and Geelong as well as Port Melbourne and Box Hill. He would have a good collection of footy jumpers if he kept them at each of his clubs.
