2023 Club B&F winners and awards nights.
Body:

I thought I'd start up a thread to capture each clubs player award winners.

If you also know of when your club is hosting, post them up. I'm still waiting to find out when Port's are on.

This is pretty shocking news considering he was intent on staying six months ago. I understand this is a semi-professional comp and sometimes things will come up in someone's life that force them to make changes. Maybe that's the case here. Honestly just gutted by the news. This club needs stability and losing one of our captains for the second straight year in ADDITION to our senior coach is the last thing we need.

Can't help but be worried.

Absolutely stunned by this news. Will comes out in the media with about six rounds to go saying that he is in it for the long haul, wants to be part of building something special......and now he's gone? What is going on at our club??

Not what anyone expected, but maybe Danny Ryan's departure changed his perspective. Anyway, a great effort to win his 3rd B&F, and certainly one of the best to ever play for Frankston - would definately be in the top six or so.

We should remember he gave five years of exemplary service when he would have been getting big offers from other clubs. Guys like Will can't be replaced but hopefully one of the young guys can step up next year.

Bearsman, every plaudit Will gets is absolutely deserved. He's been a warrior for us, and a great captain this year. I'm not personally angry with him......I am angry though, and as a member I want answers. Two years running our warrior captains have left the club at season's end.....not retiring, but going elsewhere. Tell me any other club where that would be considered acceptable.

I've been a member for most of the last 35 years, and have watched the club teeter on the brink of disaster for most of the last 15 of them. It's not that long ago we actually lost the club. So many fought so hard to get it back, but for what? What is our ambition as a club? The club asks constantly for more members......what would motivate a local to sign up when you will turn up at the start of the season and not know 75% of the players? Rebuild after rebuild after rebuild. People at MPNFL clubs see us as a joke, while they get crowd that triple ours. No wonder we don't get their backing and they're resentful of losing players to us. How can you ask your kids to come with you to games when they can't identify with the players because none of them have been there long enough?

There are rumours afoot already about off field trouble, about impetuous decisions made to change the club's direction yet again. Grant Thomas's role and influence is being questioned. The rumours better be wrong, because those of us that have been loyal members are sick to death of this rubbish. Get some bloody stability in the place, or within a couple of years we'll be staring at oblivion all over again.

I believe the club is in desperate need of a change in direction and hopefully the new coach will be the start of it. If we keep going as is, we will wither and slowly die. Danny did a great job with limited resources but we now need to find on field success, and if it means taking a few financial risks then so be it. Never been much of a Grant Thomas fan but I'm for anybody who can give us a leg up.

Are the Frankston folk on here aware of Will Fordham's move for 2024 yet?

Its a massive blow to Frankston.  From memory he committed to the club midway through the season.  Not sure what happened there.

VFL's worst kept secret.  He announced he was quitting the club while accepting the club B&F ffs...sickening for Frankston supporters for him to go to another VFL club..

The talent that has left the club in the last few years is staggering. Fordham, Nathan Freeman,Josh Begley, Taylin Duman, Josh Newman, Mitch Cox, just to name a few...

I knew this move was happening for at least a month.

His partner lives in Williamstown area that why he has gone there.

Bailey Lambert has also left the club has gone to Noble Park

So why did he come out publicly committing to the club during the second half of the season??? I'm sick to death of the softly softly approach from the club to those who bloody desert us. You're with us, or you're not, and if you move to another VFL club you're our enemy, end of!

Don't be too hard on him AJ, he's been a great player for 5 or 6 seasons - in your own words "a warrior". Who would want to drive from Yarraville to Frankston and back 4 or 5 times a week? I can't really blame him..its not realistic. I prefer to remember his fantastic contribution to the club and have him in the top 6 Dolphins that Ive seen play, so I'm happy to see him in a positive light despite the disappointment.

Can't say the same about Freeman - his departure was the height of selfishness, did the dirty on Adelaide Crows then Frankston. As good as he was, we're better off without him.

yeah we had two players who were moved on which were a cancer within the club and are infinitely better off without them even though they were both very good footballers but troublemakers

Bearsman, what really pisses me off is the public commitment to stay at Frankston......that's only about six weeks ago.....I just ask why?

One attempted to go back to the previous VFL club he had played for but they didn't want him so he ended up at a club playing in the Northern FNL  - the other one is playing up the country in his hometown
