Bullants V Geelong
Yet another home loss for the Bullants, but nonetheless some promising signs that the club isn't faraway from the best sides in the competition. All day the Bullants 'butchered' the ball, with Geelong's class coming to the fore late in the game, with the Cats ruhnning out easy winners by 28-points. The Bullants started the game poorly and at times in the first-half Geelong looked capable of blowing the game away. To the Bullants credit, during the third term they strangled the strong Geelong midfield and but for poor kicking could've had a match winning lead come the final term. Boundy and O'hailpin with three goals apiece were the best of Bullant forwards. Boundy has come back well after a one week stint in the reserves, his marking a feature of his best game in Bullants colours. Given the Bullants high number of un-forced errors, it was fitting that approaching time on and with the Cats six points in front that a poor kick deep in defence from Iacobucci was to be the turning point in the game. Iacobucci though was one of the Bullants best and certainly wasn't the only player to miss a target by foot. The Cats midsized players; Callan, Davenport, Byrne, Byrnes and J Hunt were the difference between the sides. Hunt was well held to the final term but his strength and class were instrumental in Geelong splitting the game open.
