Update : The VFL and VFLW fixtures have now been released.
https://www.afl.com.au/fixture?Competition=7&Season=66&Round=1022
Clubs received a draft fixture just before Christmas.
With AFL office closed until January 15 don’t expect a fixture release until last week in January or possibly Early February.
When Fixture is released they will only put out venues/times for first 13 Rounds inline with rolling AFL Fixture.
I have heard (from one of the best sources of VFL news - you know who you are) that the fixture is complete and it is now the clubs that will work out the finer details, such as venue and start time. Hopefully we will begin to see individual clubs putting out their fixtures as they become finalised.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Hopefully fixtures should start coming out in the next couple weeks then.
Don’t expect them until after Australia Day weekend at the earliest. My suspicions it will be early to February - it was February 9 last year
Remember when fixture is released you will see match ups for all 21 Rounds but only times and venues for first 13 Rounds.
Fixture release update
It is unlikely to be released next week now. hearing a long way from being ready so no clue.
2 months until season starts will it be released by then..
Pretty ridiculous. Fixtures for the AFL, SANFL, and WAFL have been out for months. Even the MPFNL had its fixture out before the new year. I know the VFL goes through this every year but it's just poor, and also hurts any potential marketing for clubs in my opinion.
AFL leave for clubs to organise days, times and venues etc. that’s why it takes time
VFL and VFLW Fixture release will be sometime next week
About time! Very difficult to plan out the season with interstate games when the fixture comes out late enough that a lot of cheap flights have gone.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Pre season carnival fixture for Saturday March 2 at Kinetic Stadium
Williamstown vs Port Melbourne at 10:45am
Frankston vs Northern Bullants at 1:15pm
Coburg vs Werribee at 3:45pm
I'll be keen to try and get down there early to see all three games. Hopefully with six teams playing we can draw a decent crowd down there.
3 weeks from today
Frankston will host Port Melbourne in a practice game at Kinetic Stadium (Saturday February 24) at 12noon
Can't wait Robbo! It feels like the season is very close now.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Williamstown will play Werribee in a practice game at Deakin Geelong Stadium, Waurn Ponds on Friday February 23 at 7pm
Max Williams, Alex McComb, Josh Stern, and Bonbeach player Jet Peckett have signed on for 2024.
And I just realised I put this in the wrong thread. Whoops.
The fixture has now been released!

Interesting to see that Port is insisting on playing two night matches during the colder months when we have a older supporter base who have shown by their non attendance that they aren't fans of the timeslot. For some strange reason theirs a home game listed as being played at Casey ?

Yeah the scheduling of night games towards the middle of the season is baffling. I would have thought they learnt their lesson from last year's debacle against Coburg.
These games need to played in the first handful and potentially last couple of games of the season to maximise chances of good weather and good crowds.

It's admittedly a drawback of night games. Evening matches at Frankston can get uncomfortably cold sometimes, although we got extremely lucky last year with no rain. I'm interested to know what sort of crowds Port get at night, especially during the warmer parts of the year. Frankston draw great crowds at night but I don't assume that would be the same story with every club.
