Ten announce 24-hour Sports channel

Suprised no ones raised this one... If they get the rights to State cricket, I'll probably give Foxtel the flick. http://www.theage.com.au/news/sport/tens-tilt-at-24hour-sports-channel/…

I reckon you might see the TAC Cup shown on that Channel. Especially if a TAC Cup game is a curtain raiser to an AFL game - would make sense. Pete.

Bring back Phil Gibbs, Ted Henrys etc and relive channel 0/10 VFA/VFL footy. I wish. Could channel 10 televise another vfl game on a Sunday as an alternative to ABC match on a Saturday or is that wishful thinking. Yeah probably wishful thinking. Surely channel 10 could have some imput to local sport whether it is cricket, footy, soccer or whatever they can get their hands on.

I think the legislation now states anything shown on an HD channel must be HD content, so it couldn't be a replay of the ABC match of the round which I believe only goes out on Standard definition. Not sure if Channel 10 would want to be moving their equipment around that much. I'd still like to see the clubs with a bye in the VFL and SANFL play each other in an interstate club clash. From what the article says, it looks like it will be a lot of US sports content, which is a bit of a shame, I'd prefer to see Irelands GAA series instead.

Talking to Ted yesterday. Fit as a mallee bull & now lives in Ballarat. Looks like he could still play. Can't believe he was a gun fullback for his size.

They showed Ted during the North Ballarat v Preston ABC clash this year. Ted Henrys, Phil Gibbs, Peter Sharp, Don Hyde, Bill Jacobs, Clem Dimsey and Craig Kelly. Those were the days. I bet you Ted Henrys would have been hard as nails full back with a bit of dash. Pity there is no footage of him in his playing days.
