Round 7 only featured one Sunday VFL match at Frankston, last week with the state game meant there was none, and this weekend there is just one Sunday match being played - IN BENDIGO!
I can't remember the last time a round of matches didn't feature a Sunday game being played somewhere within an hour of Melbourne.
Historically this competition was a Sunday football competition in more recent times it featured one Saturday game and the rest on Sundays.
Thankfully the draw reverts back to its usual Sunday lop sidedness after this round, but I hope those clowns at AFL Victoria aren't planning to shun Sunday VFL matches on a more regular basis next season.
It's highly unusual, almost as though they are testing something out. Simple fact is there are matches in the hundreds played on Saturdays throughout the many leagues in this state, on Sunday this week you can count the number of footy games in Victoria with your fingers.
