Shame we lost, but happy to see that it was apparently a good contest.
Good contest I hear. Hopefully game will be in Melbourne next year.
I give no credence to these BS matches as it does NOT reflect the true strength of both comps as the listed AFL players are not involved and belittles the VFL as a comp.
Under the current rules the VFL will never beat either WA or SA!
Time to bring back Fitzy !
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Agree with Billy, it's not a true reflection of which competition is stronger, I'm.guessing the vfl had over 100 afl listed players playing weekly which are ineligible to play in the game.
17 PREMIERSHIPS, 19 X Runners up
THE VFLS MOST SUCCESSFUL CLUB - THE MIGHTY PORT MELBOURNE BOROUGH!
I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN, I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED, I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!
Watched the game back and thought SANFL deserved to win but VFL side played well and it was a good contest,
Would love to see this concept continue but next year game should be in Melbourne (maybe Port Melbourne or Frankston as an example). Make it a double header with a VFLW vs SANFLW game.
I'm in favour of AFL listed players not being included. We would still have a larger pool of players available.
I haven't had the chance to watch this year's game, but in previous years, I think the failing is in lack of build up/ squad training, with the side being hastily put together.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
