THE VFL competition appears likely to stay despite debate about an AFL reserves competition; however, the format is unlikely to be known until later this year. Several formats have been touted, including a two-tier competition.

PORT Melbourne coach Gary Ayres is like a well-maintained jukebox. There's always a fresh tune.
Into his fourth season with the Borough, Ayres had his team playing a new theme of high-possession football.
It worked with Port running away from an inaccurate Box Hill by 24 points at City Oval on Saturday.
