IT was a case of back to reality for Box Hill, as an inexperienced line-up went down to Bendigo by 73 points at Windy Hill on Sunday.

The Hawks bombed-out after half-time, as a six-point deficit turned into 34 points at three-quarter-time, before the Bombers enjoyed a seven-goal-to-one final-term romp to a 21.15 (141) to 10.8 (68) win.

IF Geelong coach Chris Scott needed any more proof that Mitch Brown is ready for his AFL debut next weekend, he got it from the Cats' narrow VFL loss on Saturday.

The Cats were overrun by the Northern Bullants in the final quarter at Skilled Stadium after leading by 29 points late in the third term to lose by five points.

The Ants, on the rebound from last week's horror loss to Claremont in the Foxtel Cup, travelled down the highway to face Geelong at Skilled Stadium.

With 20 players sidelined, these are testing times for the Dolphins.
