THE Casey Scorpions have won the race to sign Brendan Fevola.

Leader understands the axed Brisbane Lions’ management will soon issue a press release indicating his preference is to play with the Scorpions in the Victorian Football League.

VFL clubs and leagues will vote next month on an restructure that would put the AFL in charge of Victorian football.

Stakeholders will attend an extraordinary general meeting on March 28 dealing with a new entity, AFL Victoria Ltd.

Former Essendon CEO Peter Jackson will head it.

Fevola, who was sacked by the Brisbane Lions nine days ago, just Tweeted: "Hey guys thanks for all the support. Decided to give footy one more crack. Any VFL clubs who want to talk please contact Velocity Sports."
