The Bullants kept their perfect QEO record in tact with a solid 15-point win over the Bendigo Bombers. The Bullants were hopelessly outplayed in the second quarter, but had the better of the Bombers for the majority of the game. The match a turnaround from the round two clash between the sides when on that ocassion the Bullants had many more shots at goal but lost the game.
The pleasing aspect of Saturday's win was that only seconds into the third term the Bullants looked in big trouble. After David Teague was knocked out by team mate Cain Ackland, they were able to respond to keep their season alive.
More pleasing was that the Bullants were 13-9 on the weekend and without Josh Vansittart, David Boundy and Paul Colbert played in the reserves. Boundy should earn a recall for this weeks game against North Ballarat. Digby Morrell will be better for his first game back since round six and Bransgrove was again good. Lachlan Longmire hasn't looked out of his depth at senior level after making his debut against Coburg.
With games to come against Werribee, Port Melbourne and Frankston, the Bullants fate is in their own hands and a repeat performance of the last two weeks should see them make a the finals for the third year running.
