2010 Round 17 Preview
Body:

Here is the preview for Round 17

SATURDAY
Coburg Tigers(5-11 10th) vs Bendigo Bombers(9-7 8th) at ABD Group Stadium,Coburg 1:10pm(ABC1TV)
Last time they met: Rd 8 2010 at Windy Hill. Coburg Tigers 13-12(90) def Bendigo Bombers 10-15(75).
Bendigo wrapped up a finals spot with a win over the Pies while Coburg went down to North Ballarat away last weekend. Bendigo could still finish as high as 5th with a win and Coburg are looking to finish off the season with a couple of home wins. Bendigo should be too strong.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Coburg 28-35-1(11th) Bendigo 33-30-1(7th)
1st Quarter: Coburg 6-10(13th) Bendigo 8-7-1(6th)
1st Quarter: Coburg 9-7(5th) Bendigo 9-7(2nd)
1st Quarter: Coburg 5-10-1(11th) Bendigo 8-8(9th)
1st Quarter: Coburg 8-8(9th) Bendigo 8-8(7th)
My Tip: Bendigo Bombers by 14pts

North Ballarat(13-3 2nd) vs Sandringham(6-10 9th) at Eureka Stadium 2pm
(Reserves Curtain Raiser starts at 11am)
Lat time they met: Rd 7 2010 at Sandringham. North Ballarat 15-14(104) def Sandringham 11-11(77).
North Ballarat with a win in this game can sure up a top 2 spot and give themselves a chance at the minor premiership should the Seagulls slip up. Sandy last minute loss to the Borough killed off any hope of finals action. North Ballarat with a lot more to play for and at home should win comfortably.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Nth Ball 40-23-1(2nd) Sand 30-34(9th)
1st Quarter: Nth Ball 10-6(3rd) Sand 8-8(7th)
1st Quarter: Nth Ball 8-8(8th) Sand 5-11(14th)
1st Quarter: Nth Ball 10-5-1(1st) Sand 10-6(4th)
1st Quarter: Nth Ball 12-4(2nd) Sand 7-9(11th)
My Tip: North Ballarat by 28pts

Northern Bullants(9-7 6th) vs Casey Scorpions(12-4 3rd) at Visy Park 2pm(Casey Radio)
(Reserves Curtain Raiser starts at 11am)
Lat time they met: Rd 6 2010 at Casey Fields. Casey Scorpions 20-12(132) def Northern Bullants 12-12(84).
Casey held on against a gallant Gold Coast side at home thanks to Brad Miller's 10 goal haul. The strongest Bullants side of the year smashed the Dolphins by 20 goals away last week with Brad Fisher kicking 10 goals. The Bullants can finish as high as 5th and as low as 8th. Casey can still finish as high as 1st although a 3rd place finish is looking likely. This is a big game as they look ahead to the finals. Casey to win narrowly.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Nth Bull 37-25-2(4th) Casey 32-30-2(8th)
1st Quarter: Nth Bull 10-5-1(2nd) Casey 6-9-1(11th)
1st Quarter: Nth Bull 8-8(6th) Casey 9-7(3rd)
1st Quarter: Nth Bull 10-5-1(2nd) Casey 10-6(5th)
1st Quarter: Nth Bull 9-7(5th) Casey 7-8-1(10th)
My Tip: Casey Scorpions by 4pts

Port Melbourne(11-5 4th) vs Geelong(5-11 11th) at TEAC Oval 2pm
Last time they met: Rd 7 2010 at Skilled Stadium. Port Melbourne 17-14(116) def Geelong 11-11(77).
Port keeped themselves in 4th spot with a last gasp win over Sandy while the Cats lost to the Hawks away last week. With a win here Port can almost sew up a top 4 spot. Geelong are looking to finish the season on a good note as players fight for spots in their AFL side for the finals. At home the Borough to win.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Pt Melb 36-28(6th) Geelong 29-35(10th)
1st Quarter: Pt Melb 7-9(10th) Geelong 8-8(9th)
1st Quarter: Pt Melb 9-7(4th) Geelong 8-8(9th)
1st Quarter: Pt Melb 10-6(7th) Geelong 5-11(13th)
1st Quarter: Pt Melb 10-6(3rd) Geelong 8-8(8th)
My Tip: Port Melbourne by 21pts

Collingwood(9-7 8th) vs Box Hill Hawks(10-6 5th) at Victoria Park 2pm(3WBC)
Last time they met: Rd 10 2010 at Box Hill. Collingwood 13-18(96) def Box Hill Hawks 7-15(57).
Box Hill had a good win over Geelong to keep their top 4 hopes alive. The Pies lost to Bendigo away last week narrowly and are in fight for 5th to 8th position. This should be a great game of football but the Pies to win at home narrowly.
STATS

1st Quarter: Coll 9-5-2(5th) BHH 11-5(1st)

1st Quarter: Coll 8-7-1(6th) BHH 10-6(4th)
My Tip: Collingwood by 3pts

Gold Coast Suns(4-11-1 12th) vs Werribee(4-11-1 13th) at Frankhauser Reserve,Southport 2:10pm
(AFLQ Curtain Raisers Southport vs Mt Gravatt Reserves 8:45am Seniors 11am)
Last time they met: Rd 3 2010 at Werribee. Werribee 11-18(84) drew with Gold Coast 12-12(84).
Werribee had a big loss to the Seagulls under lights last week while the Suns blow a 44pts half time lead to lose narrowly to Casey in a high quality game. This is the Suns final VFL home game and they have been in good form of late and win this one.
STATS
Total Quarters Won: Gld Cst 24-38-2(12th) Werr 21-41-2(13th)

My Tip: Gold Coast by 22pts

SUNDAY
Williamstown(13-3 1st) vs Frankston(1-15 14th) at Burbank Oval 2pm
(Reserves Curtain Raiser starts at 11am)
Last time they met: Rd 8 2010 at Frankston. Williamstown 17-19(121) def Frankston 10-11(71).
Willy had a good win against Werribee while the Dolphins were smashed by a red hot Bullants side. This is Willy's last game at home before the redevelopment starts and they should have a comfortable win.
