JAMES Podsiadly has capped off his stunning debut season with Geelong's VFL side by winning the Cats' best and fairest.

The VFL captain, who switched to Geelong from Werribee this year, scored a runaway win in last night's count.

He polled 151 votes to be a clear winner from AFL midfielder Simon Hogan (97 votes) with rookie-listed Brodie Moles third on 88 votes.

It was Podsiadly's second straight best and fairest honour.

GEELONG'S VFL captain James Podsiadly is rated a strong chance of winning back-to-back J.J. Liston trophies tonight.

The VFL best and fairest winner will be announced in Melbourne and, if he can add a second medal, Podsiadly will join an elite group.

There have been five multiple winners since 1945, but only two - Waverley's Alan Poore (1965-66) and Port Melbourne's Billy Swan (1982-83) - have won it back-to-back.
