EXCLUSIVE: WERRIBEE has reappointed Simon Atkins as coach, giving him a sixth season at the VFL club. Atkins, whose current contract finished at the end of the season, has been given a one-year contract extension.

The former Western Bulldogs and Fitzroy player delayed contract discussions earlier in the season to get the 2008 preliminary finalist through a form slump.

Meanwhile, reigning premier North Ballarat powered its way through to a preliminary final after defeating Port Melbourne by 48 points at Eureka Stadium.

GEELONG has crashed out of the VFL finals series after going down to Box Hill by 34 points in yesterday's elimination final.

Despite a positive start, the Cats were run over the top of in the middle two quarters of the game, to have their season ended in the first week of September.
