GEELONG'S VFL side is a work in progress, according to coach Dale Amos. But, it's a project he is excited about working on.

The Cats (1-4) travel to the Trevor Barker Oval tomorrow to take on the fifth-placed Sandringham and Amos said it would be another good challenge for the side's young players to come up against some quality St Kilda players in the Zebra line-up.

FOOTBALL supporters will be transported back to a bygone era when Geelong West-St Peter's takes on Newtown & Chilwell at West Oval tomorrow.

In a sight that will no doubt warm the hearts of old Geelong West Football Club supporters, the Roosters' will run out wearing the old white and red jumpers from the club's days in the VFA competition.

ABC Grandstand VFL travels to Box Hill this weekend for the big Round Seven clash between the Hawks and Frankston, and you can catch all the action live on ABC1 from 1pm on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks have been one of the surprise packets in 2009, a 3-2 start to the season putting paid to suggestions they would struggle again this year after several disappointing seasons.

Frankston, on the other hand, have had a trying opening six rounds - no wins from six matches providing a tough start for new coach Shannon Grant.

on the Victorian Football League. Williamstown lead the betting and are current favourites at $2.80 with North Ballarat second at $3.50 and Port Melbourne third at $4.00.
