Round 13 - Port Melbourne v Coburg.
Body:

Leading comfortably at half time only to be overrun by a dogged Coburg who deserved the win after we squandered opportunities in front of goal and at times had some horrid entries into the forward 50.

I'm pretty disappointed to come away with the loss this week. I felt it was a danger game coming into the game but after setting up the game in the first half, I feel like we aren't deserving of sneaking into the final 10.

Coburg have become something of a bogey side for Port in recent years.

We played well and gave that one away with missing several set shots that we should have gotten. Kicking 8.19 you risk getting punished like we did yesterday, we need to be better than that also hitting the post twice didn’t help. I feel if we had Farrant and Manton victory would have been ours but as Northport said a very disappointing loss as it’s a huge dent in our finals aspirations and anything less than finals with our well recruited squad and coaching staff is very much a underachievement.

We can only afford to lose one of the remaining games to make finals, I thought we would make it but after yesterday I’m no longer so sure as Williamstown will be a tough game as well as Coburg and Frankston away who we haven’t beaten in a while not being a walk in the park. Their was a time not too long ago that we feared no stand alone club (except perhaps Williamstown) now we are threatened by all except one - a good reflection on improved stand alone standards and our once high on field performance (not through lack of effort of all involved) fading from the highs we expect.

Happy Sunday post over :)
