Big V is Dead!!!

Tomorrow SANFL are playing WAFL at Adelaide Oval before AFL Showdown game.

I have since found out and It is likely AFL Victoria will no longer have a VFL state league rep side.

Obviously after the disaster of 2017 state game at Port Melbourne vs WAFL where the team was picked on draft age rather than the best team.

Surely there is still room for a state league rep side as it is great for players to inspire too.

Otherwise BIG V IS DEAD!!!!

Thank god for that!

These just matches  became an embarassment over the last few years They didnt represent the comp as most of the best players were not allowed to play and the ones that did play were clearly not good enough..

I love representative football and following the Big V.  However Victoria has not taken playing at that level with the seriousness that it deserves.  Putting squads together in such a short timeframe with a handful of training sessions and not picking the sides suited to winning these games has resulted in several embarrasing lossess in recent years.

Unfortunately another tradition bites the dust’

Remember the great days when Fitzy was coach & the competition was taken seriously & the players considered it an honour to represent their state !!

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

Too true Digs. Hopefully we are wrong and the VFL fully re-commit to the Big V.
