WERRIBEEÂ’S search for a new coach is entering its climax, with Paul SatterleyÂ’s successor set to be unveiled by the end of this week.

Tigers general manager Mark Penaluna said the Victorian Football League club was in the process of conducting final interviews with the four remaining candidates.

THE bookmakers were spot on, eventually. The Werribee Tigers were, in fact, a sure bet in week one of the Victorian Football League finals.

The short-priced favourite Tigers overcame a player-drained Box Hill Hawks to win the elimination final by 26 points at Avalon Airport Oval on Saturday.

FORMER Hawthorn midfielder Travis Tuck will try to relaunch his AFL career at VFL club Werribee.

The discarded 23-year-old signed with the North Melbourne-affiliated Tigers this morning but must sit out the first two months of the season after he became the first player suspended for recording three strikes under the AFL’s illicit drugs policy.

THE Paul Satterley era is starting to take shape at the Werribee Football Club.
The Tigers have locked in former AFL player Wade Chapman as midfield coach and senior assistant, and Werribee Centrals premiership-winning coach Chris Gilham as reserves coach for the 2011 Victorian Football League season.
