MELBOURNE development coach Brad Gotch faces a nervous wait to see if he will be rewarded with a new contract after the Casey Scorpions were bundled out of the VFL finals.
The Scorpions' senior coach wants a new deal after guiding teams into the top four for six consecutive years.

The dual premiership coach landed the 2003 flag at Williamstown, but parted company with the Seagulls after finals failure in 2009.

In Gotch's two years at Casey, he has secured two top-four finishes, but is yet to win a final.

Gotch, 49, who also steered the Sandringham Dragons to their only TAC Cup premiership in 1999, is keen to keep coaching, but Scorpions powerbrokers this week were mulling over whether to keep the former Fitzroy and St Kilda rover.
