WERRIBEE skipper Dominic Gleeson has thrown his support behind Simon Atkins, saying the Tigers coach deserves a sixth season at the VFL club.
Atkins has started contract discussions with Werribee, with his latest two-year contract up for renewal at the end of the season.

The club has not put a time-frame on a decision, but is considering a range of options, including making Atkins full-time or employing more staff.

The 168-game Western Bulldogs and Fitzroy player is one of just two part-time coaches in the VFL -- Frankston's Shannon Grant is the other.
