COBURG Tigers will meet with their AFL-aligned partner Richmond this week to discuss a replacement coach for Jade Rawlings.
It is understood a replacement could come from one of the three Richmond assistants who missed out on the caretaker position — Craig McRae, Wayne Campbell and David King — in order for Richmond to keep control of the development of its younger players.
Coburg also has an extensive list of candidates, including its playing assistant coach and former Hawthorn player Tim Clarke, who is good friends with Rawlings.
Rawlings will coach his final game for Coburg today against VFL reigning premier North Ballarat at Eastern Oval after taking over the position from Andy Collins at the end of the 2007 season. Coburg general manager Ryan O'Connor said the club could recruit internally or look outside. "At this stage, we haven't actually set all the parameters in terms of how we're going to go forward," O'Connor said.
