CASEY Scorpions accounted for reigning VFL premier North Ballarat by 56 points in convincing fashion at Ballarat on Saturday.
Melbourne-listed Ricky Petterd was the hero for the Scorpions with four goals in the 16.16(112) to 8.8(56) victory for the visitors.
Daniel Nicholson was best on ground for the Scorpions while Mathew Bate and defender Matthew Warnock were also prominent.
The Scorpions have the bye next round but are likely to be boosted by former Coleman Medallist Brendan Fevola for their clash against Frankston at Casey Fields on April 30.
