Hi all, just a note to let you know that I am working on restoring the missing images in this (and other threads). Send me an email if you pick up on any errors / omissions. Cheers, David.
VFA I think at some stage Northcote may have used the brickfielders name but Brunswick certainly were the brickfielders which makes sense as the had a clay pit and brickworks across the road from Gillion Oval they also had a number of other names in their 126 history Pottery Workers, Brickfielders, Magpies, Wicks, Wickers, the Combine.
Northcote also had a number of nick names Brickfileders Dragons Rosellas and the Cotes as a kid following the Zebras in the 1950s they were known as the Cotes.
Brunswick also played in the VFA for 11 years before Northcote and maybe used the Brickfieders name during that period and won their first VFA flag in 1909 the year Northcote joined the VFA..
Here is a visual collection showing what the Sandringham St.Kilda jumper looks like.

Northcote were the brickfielders not Brunswick.

That makes sense now. Even in the 70s supporters referred them to as cotes and coters. Come on the cotes, go coters. I heard that many times.
