MervHughes?
Been plenty of vfa players that have played shield cricket. Brendan mcardle northcote, Trevor laughlin mordialloc, john scholes coburg, rodney hogg northcote, victoria and Australia test.
You can also add peter bedford port melbourne to shield cricket
Les Stillman - Williamstown and Coburg at State level.
But we were talking about Test players!!
Did Matthew Wade play for Tassie when they were in the VFL?

Yes he did !!
Michael Dimattina played state cricket and in the VFA, although he did it in reverse I think, heading to Prahan once his cricket days were over. I think he may have briefly played NBL for the Melbourne Tigers too.

No mention of it on his Wikipedia page, digs, only that he played for the TAC Cup team. Ironic that his father was the driver for Tasmania to pull out of the VFL, not a great move in hindsight.

Could it be that I'm WRONG Wal ??
Ill check my records.
Wikipedia isn't 100% accurate, digs. Only as accurate as the info that people put on there.
