Bendigo Bombers defeated Frankston by 3 points in a thriller at the Queen Elizabeth Oval last night in front of a crowd of 1780.
The Bombers dominated the first half as they lead by 40 points at half time 8-7 to 1-9.
After half time it was a different story as the Dolphins midfield got right on top. Frankston added 10 goals to 1 to lead by 15 points at the 20 minute mark of the final quarter only for Bendigo to kick 3 goals in the final 9 minutes to win by 3 points in a thriller. Jason Laycock was named best for the Bombers while Marcus Marigliani was named best for the Dolphins. Special mention to Michael Lourey who kicked 3 goals and had a great first game for the Dolphins.
In the reserves, it was very lopsided as Frankston defeated Bendigo by 109 points 22-23(155) to Bendigo 7-4(46).
