The Bullants had a pretty one-sided hit out against an understrength Box Hill, running out 107 point winners. Carlton used the game to give many fringe type players a hitout against a Box Hill side made of VFL listed players and a few Hawthorn rookies.
Josh Vansittart played his first game of the year and looked ok but generally from a VFL viewpoint the game was a whitewash. Several of Carlton's younger players were rested, while Adam Harlett and Sam Pleming made belated last quarter appearances after watching most of the game from the grandstand.
The Bullants used 26 players with most spending some time on the bench.
