Is just like to wish everyone involved with VFLFOOTY.COM all the very best for the Christmas period and hope that 2026 is a great year ahead.

The VFA/VFL will no doubt be worse this year with Preston, an integral part of the history of the competition missing this year. Even as an away supporter, visiting Preston City Oval was always something special.

Those great rivalries are what makes Victorian football in the states premier association /league special and its something we no longer get with the addition of most of the interstate clubs.

Nevertheless, let's hope this competitions core clubs can fly the banner high and have a big impact on 2026.

I agree, going to Preston was definitely one of my preferred venues, was a great ground with good supporters, hospitality and the visit to Kramers pre and post match made it that extra bit enjoyable. One of my friends is a foundation Preston member and I remind him that when the blues left we all thought (including Preston people ) that it was going to be the end of the club and we wouldn't see them compete again- we soon found out that wasn't the case and they would reform and play another few seasons knowing fully well it was always going to be tough. At least they gave it all they had rather than folding a few years ago - they went down fighting which is how ill always remember them, as fighters. The whole vfl community I'm sure us saddened by this, let's hope no other club faces the same fate. Happy 2026 to all on this board even to our rival supporters and that includes you as well Digs :)
