I heard there was an argument about a ball hitting the post late in the game.
Gone underground have we ons?????????????/
Looks that way.
Will be an interesting story when it comes out!
I wasn't there, but heard that after a controversial free kick was paid late in time-on in the final quarter, Spotswood snatched an unlikely victory.
PORT MELBOURNE COLTS 4.4 5.11 9.15 11.17.83
SPOTSWOOD 3.3 3.7 7.9 13.15.93
There was some anger in the crowd that resulted in several brawls breaking out after the game.
Did hear today that a spotswood player came off not through the interchange area then went back on and kicked a goal to put them infront.there were also 15 police cars roll up.
I was there, a shot on goal from 30-35 metres out was overuled by the field umpire. The goal umpire was wanting to signal a goal and had a perfect view but after a lenghty conversation with the field ump he was instructed to signal a behind.
In my opinion this would have won the Colts the match and all the fights and incedents after the game stemmed from this decision. I dont think we have heard the last of this issue.
I still cant work out why the goal umpire was not allowed to make the decision when he was right under the ball as it sailed through. He was in perfect position.
