Gotta be a positive for the comp being on prime time TV even if it's not the main channel - the vast majority of comments on the Herald-Sun website today in relation to this issue were positive
It's a good move by CH7. There are some footy fans who are still reluctant to pay a subscription to watch footy. Will give them something to watch on Sat night while giving publicity to league and its teams/players. Could result in new interest and support for the clubs.
From what I heard last Friday night the preference for Frankston is to keep our regular 10 home games even if it means sacrificing a television game. If we get an away fixture against Port and it's televised then great, but the club's not willing to give up a home game just to be on TV.
So this got brough up at Frankston's AGM tonight. Club isn't interested in giving up a home game to play at Port on a Saturday night. The feeling is that being on Channel 7 doesn't offer any net benefit over playing at home (most likely due to reduced attendance and revenue from playing away and being of no benefit to sponsors.)

Clubs shouldn't be forced to play night matches- channel 7 should focus on those who want to be part of the initiative. I thought they gave up on the idea as theirs no night matches listed on ports fixture who was rumoured to have a whole bunch of. TV covered night games lined up before the fixtures release.

Especially if it is at port Melbourne every week, should not happen.

Great decision by channel 7 - cab see so many positives and nowhere better than the home of vfl footy - top stadium, central and well run.
