Reread the list, where I've mistakenly put a capital B in Werribee abbreviation. Dunno which day or times of the match.

Saw that on the list - was just wondering if Digs could confirm the day/time for the game?

Burra,
I don't want you stressing out about what's going on up here.
We like to play it low key & not wet our pants every time a dud ex AFL player gets signed by Port.
We have gained some high quality little known players & combined with an improved North Melbourne list including Rockin Robin, will stand us in good stead against Dads Army.

It's a pity Roosters hasn't informed members.

Some clubs are quite good at keeping members/supporters updated...other not so good

My ratings below on how the VFL clubs websites keep people informed...particularly regarding new signings/re-signings

Sandy 8/10
Port 8/10
Casey 6/10
Coburg 8/10
Box Hill 5/10..strange considering they're the reigning premiers
Frankston 5/10
N.Ballarat 7/10
N.Blues 8/10
Werribee 8/10
Willy 9/10
Bendigo 0/10...I can't access any information about Bendigo. The front page of their web site simply asks if you want to become a member or sponsor..unless I'm missing something

Williamstown is the stand out in my opinion with the continual updating of their website..

Lucky we have Paul Amy on twitter who does a great job of keeping supporters updated on player signings/re-signings

On blob-tv tonight mention of Roosters seeking a practice match before an AuFL preseason match. That will mean Rooster members will be excluded yet again. It is wrong to charge to attend a practice match, especially full AuFL charges.

Cobra,
This game will be fully controlled by the AuFL who wouldn't let the daylight in.
Personally I don't think that there is any need for another practice match as there are still three to come.
This of course would be driven by Carlton as the match would be against Preston & I think that the Roosters will only get in their way & we wouldn't want to upset the almighty Carlton.

Re curtain raisers, its great for your players to get to play in front of a big crowd though. Exposes club to a new audience too.

Is QEo still being used for cricket ? Is that the reason that they are laying those two games at Epsom ? Would be good for the new players to play on QEo to get used to the ground before season starts.

It's the same for a few clubs at this level MegaA. The PMCC / VTCA finals at Port as well are another.

Hopefully the Gold have some success in those practice matches to get a bit of a buzz around Bendigo. Playing against two AFL clubs will probably test out the fitness early.

Yeah I know - I was just curious as to if that was the reason they were playing elsewhere and not QEO. I understand Ports grounds is also used during the summer for cricket.

Yep. QEO is the main cricket ground for our local comp. In reality, the cricket final should be played elsewhere, but cricket here still thinks it is important.

Gold, by "Epsom" do you mean the Epsom-Huntly complex?

Blob-tv on Thursday 6 February suggested that the 15th Feb. VFL practice match will be played AFTER the AuFL match. Perhaps VFL supporters will be allowed to see their game.

Good to see the Dolphins helping out the beleaguered Northern Blues by agreeing to play a practice match at 5pm on Monday.

The traditional Nth Blues v Williamstown practice match has been scrapped.

sorry for jumping in Cobra, but yes their pre season games are at Epsom-Huntly sports complex. There seems to be a lot of positive feelings coming from the playing group. Should be interesting to see how much they improve this year.

No practice game ? At least they will be playing for the Kane Lambert trophy this year. I think the seagulls might win in a canter. Could be a very fiery encounter between the two.
