Morning all, long time reader first time poster. I was sitting in the local last night enjoying a convivial or three, when I overheard a couple of chaps discussing the upcoming season with particular regard to round 1. My understanding from the conversation is that as Round 1 falls in between the NAB Cup GF & Round 1 of the AFL only VFL listed players will be able to play, due to the AFL collective bargaining agreement etc. Can anyone confirm this is the case??
Probably right there but no doubt there will be exceptions for players resuming from injury, needing another run. Pretty similar when the afl club has a bye and the vfl aligned team is playing.
from memory this has happened previously- not the start- but AFL players seeking and recieveing permission t play if they have not played during the pre season comp..
