Fantastic stuff Casey Radio.
I also took video footage from the huddle.
Will look at it soon.

Pauls Camcorder (not verified)

What Gary Ayres asked of his players was delivered without question. The spirit of Port Melbourne can never be questioned. Unbelievable speech, truly inspiring!

Was a great speech, the huddle was packed, and supporters kept urging the players on..

Iceman, FYI the song is 'Shipping upt to Boston' from the Dropkick Murphy's (you might recongnise it from the AFL's 2009 promotion, 'in a League of their own'

I'd love to hear your copy of the speech VFA if you can get an electronic copy.

The atmosphere around that 3/4 time break was absolutely electric.

I taped it from my video camera. I'll have a look at it and convert to DVD.
I will have 4 Port games finalised from my video to dvd.
Casey v Port at Casey, Port v Sandy at Teac Oval, Sandy v Port at Travor Barker Oval and of course Port v Box Hill.
Probably around 3 hours of footage which includes the passion of the port crew on the wing at TBO giving someone a spray and urging the boroughs plus a few huddles as well as the electric atmosphere of Sunday's game. I taped the 1/4 time as well as 3/4 time. The Port v Sandy atmosphere was ok but nothing as good as Sunday's.

Will bring a copy this Sunday for you.

Maybe you can put the 3/4 time huddle with Ayres speech on the vflfooty website.
Rivetting stuff.

I am in the habit of going to the 1/4 time huddle of the team that is behind; on Sunday that was Port Melb. At 3/4 time I headed for the Mustang’s muster but could not get close to the action because the players were "roped off" so I went across to the Port assembly and luckily acquired a good position. Great motivation by G.A, fantastic vibes. Great day of footy, best I have witnessed for a long time.

Looking forward to the next three games

He won't be the only one barracking for the roosters during the day and cats at night. Did you go to the Liston last night Digs ?

Not this year George. First one I have missed since the Roosters came into the VFL.
I miss all those little junkets now that I am no longer a board member.

The crowd kept encouraging the players, you can't hear some of that on the audio, but it was intense.. Hopefully it sticks with the players, and they will be able to draw on it in the next (two) games!

I will look at my video footage from the 3/4 time huddle tonight.
Should be interesting to see how the footage came out which includes the famous speech from Gary Ayres.
I'll give a copy to Station Hotel who can put it on line here.

I wondered where you were, was looking for you during the night and didn't see you.

Remember having a beer and a chat with you before heading into the main room at last year's Liston function.
