Yeah a one sided game alright. The standard of football on the VFLW isn't great, and that may be just because of the rapid expansion depleting the talent pool. Hopefully the huge popularity will see it become the premier women's sporting code so the standard improves in the next 5 to 10 years.
The crowd was better than healthy.. I thought it was extremely good, especially given the low crowd attendance during the home and away season.
Ground has come a long way the past few years cementing it as the premium VFL venue, further evidence of this was talk on the radio last night was that Northport may be hosting the VFL grand final this year.
Along with this a couple of AFLW games have been secured for the venue which will guarantee a nice financial boost to Port Melbourne Football Club.

1997 Sandringham defeated Frankston (a pleasurable experience being there)
1998 Springvale defeated Werribee
1999 Springvale defeated North Ballarat
In 2000 the last VFA GF was held at Waverley, Sandringham defeated North Ballarat (another pleasing experience); Saunter kicked the last goal at VFL Park.
very healthy crowd at North Port Oval - free entry helps i guess - the standard of football, particularly by the Saints, is not real flash

* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Yep the crowd looked like a typical Port VFA crowd back in the golden 1960 - 1980s Sunday era!
yeah it was great to see it packed although a slightly different crowd from what would have been at North Port in the 1960's
Great to see the ground in such perfect condition. !
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

A Grand Final would be great. The atmosphere when Port last hosted a Grand Final in the late 90s was excellent.
They brought on temporary seating which I'd love to see them do again (as a more permanent fixture)

VFA GF's were also held at North Port in the 1960's - the 1964 GF Willi v Port was played at North Port i'm sure
