What a great day of WAFL Grand Finals.....congrats to the Falcons for winning the league in a ripper game. Lessons should be learned by the VFL in terms of grand final venue. Leederville was rocking today and the packed house can't be ignored for the atmosphere it gives. There's no point playing a grand final in a half empty venue, ever.

You are right aj9172 it was a great match to watch but don.t forget WAFL has not been destroyed like the VFA/now VFL has been over the past couple of decades.

In Victoria the AFLW has taken the place of the so called "State:" League ( which is what the AFL wants) the VFL is now third in the pecking order in Victoria esp with the AFLWs  blanket TV coverage on Fox and Seven and much bigger crowds which are more like the old days of the VFA.

EG: the AFLW night matches at Frankston are getting much better crowds than the local VFL team does!

With these factors in play I don't see much of a future for the very restricted VFL in its current form!

As far as my club Sandringham is concerned I hope they suck as much money out of stupid St Kilda while the so called partnership exists!

yeah that was a great game with a fantastic crowd and tremendous atmosphere - plenty of lessons to be learned by the VFL/AFL - former Willi player Luke Meadows went alright and finished runner-up in the Sandover earlier in the week.
